Yes -- at minimum a light polish is strongly recommended. Ceramic coating locks in whatever condition the paint is in. If we coat over swirls or haze, they get sealed underneath permanently. We include paint correction in our mid and upper tier packages.
No -- ceramic coating is not a physical barrier. It will not stop rock chips or deep scratches. What it does is protect against UV damage, chemical staining, water spots and light surface contamination. If you want chip protection, PPF is the right product.
Typically 2 to 3 days depending on paint condition and the package chosen. Paint correction, coating application and initial cure all take time to do properly. We don't rush the process.
Avoid any washing for the first 7 days while the coating fully cures. After that, use pH-neutral soap, a soft wash mitt and proper drying towels. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes -- they will scratch the coating over time.
